Botanical Garden Munich-Nymphenburg

the Münchner Botanischer Garten wasn’t always the vibrant garden we see today. It was officially opened in 1914, offering a brand new garden to explore. The original Botanical Garden, established much earlier, was located closer to the city center but was deemed too small for the growing collection of plants.

The driving force of science was behind its conception. There was no single person, but the botanists, horticulturalists, and city planners collaborated.

But even these gardens were touched by war, so they had to overcome damage during World War II. But were preserved after, with care.
